Heaven

Gates of Heaven

We will all live forever. That’s not the question.

When we leave this earth, we will experience eternity. Eternity is a forever existence in either Heaven or Hell. Non-negotiable. Fact. The real question is: where do you want to spend your eternity? Your answer determines your destiny. It’s that simple, but serious. Your options are discussed below.

Heaven?

Heaven is a place without tears, without pain, without suffering, without sorrow, without fear, without death. Heaven has no sun, moon, nor stars. Instead God is the perpetual light, never darkness. It’s a place of eternal love, void of all evil. Heaven is a place of perfection—sinless.

In Heaven, jasper walls surround the city. Twelve gates, each constructed of one pearl, allow entrance. The city, including its streets, are made of pure gold as transparent glass. Twelve foundations support the city and are made of precious stones: jasper, sapphire, chalcedony, emerald, sardonyx, sardius, chrysolyte, beryl, topaz, chrysoprasus, jacinth, amethyst. Can you imagine how gorgeous living in a mansion in this city would be?

The Alternative

If you don’t find Heaven appealing, the alternative is Hell. Hell is a place of pain, suffering, weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth. This horrid place of darkness is the absence of love, the absence of God. It’s a bondage with all that is evil. Hell is the place God prepared for those who choose to not believe in and accept the path to Heaven.

Your Choice

God gave each of us a free will to choose Heaven or Hell. He will not force us to love Him, but that doesn’t change the fact that He loves us. God’s love says, please follow me. Satan is devious and looks for ways to trick us into following him on the path straight to hell.

Don’t know which way to choose? Have lots of questions? Read the Bible and test to see if it is true. Ask God to show you if He is real. Just make a good choice before it is too late.

Tell Me More

Salvation is not something you earn. It’s not whether or not you are “good enough.” It’s not about all the nice things you have done. Salvation is free to us, but it did cost Jesus much—the shedding of His blood.

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

You can be certain of where you are going when you die. You can have the peaceful lifestyle that Heaven holds when you leave this earth. God said if we want to enter heaven, this is how:

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

… because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame. For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. (Romans 10:9-13)

“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:1-6)

So, Now What’s Next?

The gift of eternal life is free for the asking. Just pray this simple prayer to God:

God, I confess I am a sinner. Thank you for the sacrifice Jesus Christ, Your Holy Son, made by shedding His innocent blood to wash my sins away. I ask You to forgive my sins. I believe, based on the truth in Your Word, that you will forgive me. Please come into my heart and make me a child of Yours. I want to spend eternity with you in Heaven, where there is no eternal pain and suffering like in Hell. Thank you for this free give of eternal life through Your love and grace. Thank you that I am now a child of Yours.

If we never meet face-to-face on this earth, I look forward to seeing you in Heaven.
