About Me

Since childhood, I’ve been an avid reader. Mysteries, adventure, and other fiction stimulate my imagination and creativity. Reading nonfiction awakens a new realm of learning, a gateway to change. Whatever the genre, stories help us to grow in a number of ways. Sometimes we remember the past or maybe dream about the future.

For me, my love for reading cultivated my desire to write. About eight years ago, I joined a writer’s group and soaked up all the wisdom the speakers’ offered. I practiced techniques and learned the do’s and don’ts. Today (September 2015), as a recent empty nester, I step into the blogging world as a writer.

In December 2015, I added to my writing experience. I was a contributing author in Becoming Women of Worth: Stories of Sugar & Spice and Recipes for the Holidays, by Kristen Clark. In February 2016, I wrote a contribution for Kristen’s soon to be published book on mentoring younger women (stay tuned for details).

In March 2016, I branched out further by submitting an essay for Listen to Your Mother. While not chosen for the performance, I have confirmation that I love to write.

When I’m not rattling the keyboard, I have the privilege of taking care of my husband and our Border Collie/Lab mix, Gracie. We live in Little Rock, AR.
